Meet local farmer and Irish heritage expert Eddie Joe Dooney of Ireland West Farm Stay Experience for a tour that delves into rural Irish heritage. You will walk through the farm learning of rural Ireland and farming both past and present. You will then walk the bogs. Here you will learn all about the bogs of Ireland, both working and living bogs. You will see how the turf is cut for fuel and you will take a hand at it yourself. You will also walk the bogs learning of the flora and fauna.

Join local Blacksmith Pat Strahan of 9Irons Craft in the Barroe Forge in Carracastle Village for a fascinating workshop in blacksmithing. Pat will concentrate on the ancient traditions and superstitions of the Irish blacksmith and you will learn about and create a 9 Iron. This ancient amulet being a forgotten part of rural Ireland's heritage.
